My father died of suicide when I was sixteen. Since then, I launched myself into my practice in art, trying to cope with and address the importance of suicide prevention and awareness. In my work, I investigate feelings of guilt, religion induced shame, and the overall grief that surrounded me after losing my father. My work shares a story of grief and loss, but it also shares a story of acceptance, growth, and a desire to connect with the world around me.
