Worker's Repose
Worker's Repose
by Emi Savacool
In our society, we identify ourselves first and foremost with our work. Our existence is quantified by our output - our worth derived from what we are able to produce. Death is our rest, but in death, the fruit of our efforts loses its value. In her final repose, the worker clings to her earthly gains, but to no avail - You can't take it with you.
