Remember Me

by Rachel Macias

As a Hispanic of Mexican decent, the respect and remembrance of the dead is very significant to us. I wanted to remember the people that have passed away that are special to me. The aim of the photo taken with the piece is to remember the human aspect of the people I’ve lost by using my own face and hair. The importance of using a skull as the Jewelry subject matter is to pay homage to my culture of Dia de Los Muertos where the skills are decorated and celebrated to remember our lost family members.
